Key Stage One 1960s Day
I am very pleased to welcome you to Wychwood Primary School. We are a large, thriving, rural primary school at the heart of the Shipton and Milton under Wychwood villages serving pupils from these communities and the surrounding areas.
We have 280 pupils in 11 classes that are organised into Early Years, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2. Each phase is ably led by a member of the Senior Management Team. We offer an exciting and inspiring curriculum that stimulates and engages our pupils. We supplement the curriculum with educational trips, visitors to the school and termly curricular themed weeks. Specialist teachers visit the school to offer instrumental lessons and language teaching.
We have a full and varied after school programme of activities. For example we have football, judo, computer, drama, cookery, art, choir and general sports clubs on offer. Before and after school care is provided on the school premises by CAWS.
We have strong links with the local community, including the local churches and the tennis club. We participate in the sporting and artistic opportunities that are offered by the Burford partnership of schools.
If you think that this may be the school for your child then please come along and meet me. I can give you a tour of our wonderful school and explain to you in detail the ethos of our school.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
Working together we will:
Develop individuality and independence
Fulfil potential through high expectations
Nurture responsible and respectful citizens
