Throughout term three upper key stage two have been exploring dance and movements as part of their PE sessions. This was based around a circus theme so we started by exploring this concept and using it to create our own movement sequences and performing these in time with music. We then looked at creating a bigger performance to finish the topic using the music from the film the Greatest Showman.
Each class practiced their section of the piece during their PE sessions for two weeks then in the last two lessons of the term the classes joined together to practice as a whole and see how their sections fitted into the whole performance. We then performed our piece to a small audience and recorded it to share with the rest of the school. All the children really enjoyed being part of a larger performance and really worked hard to produce such an amazing piece!
