KS1 Sponsored Walk

This afternoon, the KS1 children departed on an adventure into the depths of Shipton! The weather was kind and the children were in high spirits as they headed towards the wild gardens. They then proceeded to walk around the lake, stopping to admire the ducklings, and then out into Diggers Wood. The children were raising money for three Wildlife charities that they had chosen: Crocodiles of the World, Wychwood Wild Garden and The British Divers Marine Rescue. The walk was part of a nationwide attempt to break a World Record for the largest number of people taking part in a sponsored walk at one time. To mark this moment, the children counted down and a huge cheer broke out at 2.15pm. The walk was rounded off with a well deserved, refreshing ice lolly on the school field! The children were fantastically behaved, as always, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
